Do textbooks count?

I just finished reading a piece of work by political scientists about the 2004 elections. Hmm.

What i learnt most from this book: there's this theory in polisci that divides majority political power time periods into "party eras," where one party has a majority over another. Since about 1968 to now, we've been in this party era that's not been conclusively toward one majority party. 1968 being the last year that Dems had a strong majority in congress and in the presidency. Now, to a few political scientists it seems we're in an era that is turning towards the right and towards republicans. As evidenced by stronger politics by republicans.

Just a thought. There were other political scientists in this book that said otherwise in different chapters--but the arguments didn't seem to hold as much water.

Haha. It must be the time in Chicago that made you say "hypocrite" instead of "a hypocrite."
