Sub-par Performance

So I just finished this book called Tam Lin by somebody-or-other. The main characters were all college students mostly majoring in English or the Classics. Point is, if they are what college students are supposed to be like, we, my friends, fell way way below the standard. When meeting each other freshman year, they all quote Shakespeare and Keats at one another, make up songs to obscure poems, and hold entire conversations using only quotations from famous people. I'm telling you, these people were insane. I probably only recognized half of the people and works they were talking about and I think I read three of the total.

It turns out at the end, a couple of them were actually some of Shakespeare's original players, which explains how they got so literate, but a couple of them were really only 18 or 20 years old. Explain that! Makes me feel so deficient.

However, I really enjoyed the book.

I feel deficient now too. I wish I could be doing reading like y'all are. Or at least like I think y'all are. :). Me, I'm reading what I should be reading--classwork. Capstone--I dare not call it "Crapstone" yet for I don't want to put out that kinda bad cause ;)--is on hold for a moment. At least until I have things in my life figured out, like if I should apply for JET.
